Hearing injuries are a common and often permanent occupational hazard. Protect your hearing from harmful noise, dirt, and chemicals with high-quality earplugs. Southland offers a wide selection of roll down earplugs from trusted brands like 3M, Howard Leight, and Safetek.

Our roll down earplugs provide superior protection and comfort compared to traditional foam earplugs. With a variety of shapes, including Bullet, Bell, and T shape, we have the perfect fit for every worker. Don't risk your hearing. Choose Southland for your earplug needs.

The most effective ways of preventing noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) are to eliminate the source of the noise, or to reduce it at the source by engineering methods. However, there are certain workplaces where these measures are not possible. In such situations, workers may need to wear noise cancelling ear plugs to reduce the amount of noise reaching their ears.

Roll down earplugs, or foam earplugs, are inserted in the ear canal. They may be premoulded, mouldable, push-to-fit, or custom moulded.

When To Use Roll Down Earplugs?

Noise-level testing determines the amount of noise generated by a piece of equipment, or in a workplace. Sound meters measure noise levels and are easy-to-operate and lightweight. The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 (OHS Regulations) set a noise exposure standard measured in units called decibels (dB). The noise exposure standard is an 8-hour average of 85 dB(A) and a peak noise level of 140 dB(C) at the employee's ear position.

When administrative controls fail to reduce sound levels to acceptable levels as determined by OHS Regulations standards, personal protective equipment should be provided and used to reduce sound levels.

What Makes a Comfortable Roll Down Earplug?

The comfort of an earplug can never be assessed by its look or feel. The only true measure of comfort is through user experience. Southland offers a wide range of noise cancelling earplugs for every worker and every situation.
